Yesterday, in a decisive 6-3 vote, the Miami-Dade County Historic Preservation Board chose not to designate the Church by the Sea as a historic site. This is good news for two reasons: first and foremost, it allows our longtime neighbors from the Church to pursue their future plans in the manner that they have chosen; second, it moves the Shops enhancement plan one BIG step closer to reality.
We’re also pleased to report that Tuesday night the Bal Harbour Village Council moved towards allowing Village residents to vote on the enhancement plan. They did so by agreeing to set a date to officially consider placing the Bal Harbour Shops enhancement plan on the ballot. We expect the date for the First Reading of this important Council item to be set in the coming weeks and will keep you posted.
We are deeply appreciative of your continued support. Let’s keep the forward momentum going! Please take a moment to share this message with friends and neighbors who have a vested interest in the future of our Village and the success of the plan. For more information on the numerous community benefits that will result from the Bal Harbour Shops enhancements, please visit: www.balharbourshopsvision.com
